when the colloquial becomes poetic

a few years ago i was with some friends
at a small gig,
listening to bell x1 play

they were beyond wonderful.
before they started to play lamposts,
paul, the lead singer explained one lyric in particular

"Braithim uaim tĂș"
which in gaelic means
"i miss you"
but it literally translates to
"i feel you from me"

i instantly fell in love with that expression
because isn't that such a lovelier way
to express that we miss someone?

to say "i miss you" is so blunt and frank,
whereas "i feel you from me"
sounds so literal and painful,
which in most cases it is

its nice to think that such a common
phrase can be so poetic

night,
